There are many applications which we are currently working with. In addition there are many applications in the testing phases which we will up date from time to time.

In brief the cryogenic process takes the material to be treated down to sub zero temperatures (-300 degrees) at a predetermined rate. The material is held there for several hours to allow redefinition and correction of the microstructure, along with other changes including dimensional stabilization. This translates into a corrected and much stronger grain structure of the material being treated. After this operation a tempering time is required and the material is completely stress relieved and strengthened. (we can give you more technical information on our process if you are interested)

There are many applications for this and I will list some of the items we are currently treating. This process increases strength and wear properties tremendously. In several studies cutting tools and forming dies have shown increases between 50 to 300% depending on application. Some of the material that this performs the best on would be D2, H13, any high speed steels, stainless, aluminum, copper, brass, bushings, and many other materials. We are currently treating saw blades of all type, friction blades, high speed steel blades, segmental blades, carbide tipped blades, any cutting tools, and slitter knives and most recently D2 rolls which are used in all of the pipe mills. This keeps you from shutting the mill down to change rolls if you are in a long run.
